Walter Inglis, of Red Deer, passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at the age of 94.  Walter was born on January 30, 1917 in Calgary, Alberta.  Walter served in WWII and was employed for 42 years at Alberta Government Telephones before retiring in 1979. He was an active and involved member of Gaetz United Church where he shared many happy times with other members and friends. During his retirement, he enjoyed travelling, woodworking, gardening, sharing times with fellow Telephone Pioneers and playing cards. Walter always took great pleasure in presenting a good story or joke! Walter will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his wife, Grace, children Jean (Jim) Lozon, John (Brenda) Inglis, Sue Inglis (Cindy Riach), Gord Inglis, and his stepchildren John (Heather) Hadden, Barb (Peter) Yamada and his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Walter was predeceased by his first wife, Ellen, in 1997. A Funeral Service was held on Monday, August 15, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Gaetz United Church, 4758 Ross (50th) Street, Red Deer, Alberta. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Walter's name can be made directly to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta, #202, 5913 - 50 Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta, T4N 4C4 or to a charity of your choice.
