Warren BRINSON

BRINSON, Warren Willis Mr. Warren Willis Brinson (Smokey) passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on Saturday, September 4th 2004, at the age of 91. At the time of his death he was a resident of the Pines Lodge in Red Deer. Warren was born January 29th, 1913 at Curlew, Alberta, northwest of Three Hills, Alberta (the third son of 11 sons and one daughter born to Jonathan and Theresa Brinson). Warren spent three years on the family orchard in Peachland, British Columbia, later moving with his family back to a farm near Three Hills. He started a career as an automotive mechanic and then moved on to operating his own gas station, tire shop and taxi service in Three Hills. On January 21st, 1940, Smokey married Bernice Powers. They had three children Virginia, Raymond and Glen. In 1968 Bernice and Warren sold their service station and moved to Rimbey, Alberta. After several employment ventures in Alberta and British Columbia, they selected Innisfail Alberta for retirement. Warren was a very innovative and resourceful individual - he loved the challenge of fixing and inventing things. His wonderful sense of humour and storytelling will be remembered by the many who knew him. He is survived by his children, Virginia Carson of Innisfail, Raymond (Lynn) of Spruce View and Glen (Gina) of Powell River, British Columbia, one brother, Earl of Innisfail, and one sister, Louise Melanson of Didsbury, 12 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Bernice April 6, 1993, son-in-law Gordon Carson, January 16, 2003, his parents and nine brothers. Memorial services for Warren Willis Brinson will be held on Friday, September 10th, 2004, 2:30 p.m. at Innisfail Funeral Home and Crematorium. Officiating, Chaplain Rick Williams.
