FEIL, Wayne LaRoy March 20 1940 - June 20, 2007 Passed away peacefully at Red Deer Hospital after a brief but heroic battle with cancer at the age of 67. Wayne was pre-deceased by his father, Andrew Feil, and is survived by his loving mother, Evelyn Feil of Emerald Gardens, Grande Prairie. Wayne is deeply loved by his partner of 26 years and best friend, Don Robertson, of Calgary, and adored by Don's daughter Rosalind, of Toronto. Like a brother to his cousins Lynn Breese, of Comox, B.C. and Marj Sheehan-Berg, of Grande Prairie, Wayne is also lovingly remembered by his special aunt, Vera Sheehan, and cousins Colleen, Bill and Larry. Wayne was educated at the University of Alberta, to become a teacher. While most of his 40 year career was spent teaching in Red Deer, Wayne also taught in Grande Prairie and with the Canadian Department of National Defense in Lahr, Germany. An avid and accomplished figure skater, Wayne helped to coach and judge many young skaters in Alberta and helped to develop the sport of Precision Skating in the province. Wayne was also active in the Red Deer Theatre as an actor and director. He travelled extensively around the globe and enjoyed every trip he took. Success is To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you lived. This is to have succeeded. A Memorial Service for Wayne LaRoy Feil will be held on Friday July 6 th, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium at 6287-67A Street, Red Deer, AB. An Inurnment Service will be held at the Grande Prairie Cemetery, Saturday, June 23, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 4730A Ross Street, Red Deer, AB T4N 1X2.
