Wayne REMPEL

REMPEL Wayne Douglas Rempel passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on Sunday, May 8, 2005 at the age of 69 years. Wayne was born on October 17, 1935 in Nipawin, Sask.. He grew up in the Cherry Ridge District where his parents farmed. After completing his schooling he began his career with Federated Co-operatives in Saskatoon and Regina, then was transferred to Maple Creek where he met and married Delta Sanderson. Over the next few years they lived in Bengough, Lampman and Swift Current before settling in Red Deer in 1968 where Wayne worked at the Red Deer Co-op for many years as Financial Controller. Wayne will be lovingly remembered by Delta, his wife of 47 years, his four children and nine grandchildren: Brent & Laurie Rempel (Randy, Keith, Kevin, Jessica, & Jordan) of Red Deer, Dawne & Mike Coyston (Brad & Samantha) of Kelowna, Mark & Patty Rempel (Piper & Jacob) of Sylvan Lake and Tracy & Wade Vanrobaeys of Calgary. He will be sadly missed by his sister, Shirley (Gordon) McIvor and her family, Jim & Gordie of Nipawin and Vicki of Saskatoon as well as numerous other relatives and friends. His parents, Jake and Pearl Rempel, predeceased Wayne. A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held at the Sunnybrook United Church, 12 Stanton Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Monday, May 16, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. with the Reverends Paul Mullen and Jan Richardson officiating. Interment of cremated remains will take place following the service at Alto-Reste Memorial Gardens, County of Red Deer, Alberta. If desired, Memorial Donations in Wayne’s honour may be made directly to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 4322-52 Avenue, Red Deer, T4N 4J9, the Red Deer Nursing Home, 4736-30 Street, Red Deer, T4N 5H8, or Sunnybrook United Church, 12 Stanton Street, Red Deer, T4N 0B8. In living memory of Wayne Douglas Rempel a tree will be planted in the Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium Memorial Tree Park. The family wishes to acknowledge the loving care given to Wayne for so many years by the staff of the Red Deer Nursing Home, the special personal attention he enjoyed so much given by Harriet and Richard Malone and the special times with his faithful visitors from Sunnybrook United Church, Ray Morrison and Alice Williamson. We are truly grateful.
