VANDERLEEK Wieke VanderLeek (Klynstra), born on January 6, 1912 in Friesland, Netherlands, went to be with her Lord on the morning of October 4, 2007. Wieke died peacefully in her sleep after suffering a stroke three weeks earlier. Wieke maintained excellent health, a wonderful sense of humor, amazing charm and a loving heart to the end. She will be sadly missed by two sons Jake (Patricia), Peter (Barbara) and three daughters Dora Veniez (Gerry). Cathy Durstling (Stan) and Edie deVries (Bert), 15 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren as well as 2 sisters and 1 brother in Holland. She was predeceased by her husband Peter, an infant daughter, 2 grandchildren and 6 brothers and sisters in Holland. A special thanks to all the kind and compassionate care the wonderful nurses gave our mom at Lacombe Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 12, 2007 at 1:00 p.m from the Woody Nook Christian Reformed Church. Interment will follow in the Woody Nook Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Lacombe & Community Palliative Care Society Box 5576, Lacombe, AB T4L 1X2, or to the charity of the donors choice.
