SLACK Wilfred Johnston Slack passed away peacefully at the Lacombe Hospital and Care Centre on Sunday July 18, 2004 at the age of 72. Wilf was born on March 1, 1932 in Brockville, Ontario. Passionately known as FRENCHY, he was loved and well liked by friends, co-workers of the farming and oil patch communities, as well as much of the Rimbey community. Wilf is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Marie; two daughters, Shelley Slack of Lacombe, Elaine (Phil) Simoneau of Red Deer; three sons, Earl (Joanne) Slack of Mirror, John Slack of Hamilton, Ontario, Jimmy Slack of Lacombe; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren. He will also be lovingly remembered by four brothers and one sister as well as their children and grandchildren. Wilf was predeceased by his parents and four brothers. Funeral Services will be held from Wilson's Funeral Chapel 6120 Highway 2A Lacombe, on Friday July 23, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. If friends desire memorial contributions may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation #101, 5208 - 53 Ave. Red Deer, Alberta T4N 5K2 or to the Canadian Diabetes Association #6 5015 - 48 Street, Red Deer, AB T4N 1S9.
