Wilfred "Wilf" Stanley Zohner passed away peacefully on January 6, 2019 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital.
He is predeceased by his parents Ben and Lena Froning, sister Gladys Nelson, and son-in-law Darren King.
Wilf is survived by the love of his life of 59.5 years, Dorothy Zohner; his two daughters Wende Neufeld (Shane) and Wanda Marsman (Eddie); his grandchildren Megan, Michelle, and Matthew King; his great grandchild Rayleigh King also known affectionately by Wilf as "Twinkle Toes"; his beloved dogs Genni and Cleo; as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Wilf was born and raised in the Wetaskiwin, Alberta area and in 1959 he married Dorothy. They made their home in Red Deer, Alberta and started a family there.
In 1974 Wilf Zohner Electric LTD was established until 2000. Wilf and Dorothy also owned several revenue properties from 1978-2005.
In 2003, Wilf began a new business venture and started Hillsdown Ranch east of Red Deer in the Pine Lake area. Wilf had many hobbies and interests being an outdoorsman; he loved fishing, hunting, boating, camping, and quadding out west. He was "Coach Wilf" with the Red Deer Recreational Girls Softball Team with which they became City Champs in 1984. Wilf was also a self-taught musician; able to play guitar, banjo, and the organ, with his abilities being a huge hit around the campfire.
His family would like to thank Dr. Pimm, Dr. Bhandari, Dr. Prins, the pharmacists at Save on Foods North, and the caring staff on Unit 23 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital. Wilf loved to spend time in his backyard feeding and watching the birds and wildlife so in his honor donations may be made directly to The Medicine River Wildlife Centre, Box 115, Spruceview, Alberta, T0M 1V0.
As per his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral services held for Wilf.
