December 23, 2023

We are sad to announce that Bill Kuz passed away peacefully on December 23, 2023 at the age of 88.

Bill was born on the family farm in Manitoba. In his 20's he worked on many unique construction projects in western and northern Canada. One of his favorites was the Distant Early Warning (DEW) Line in the Arctic.

For over 55 years Red Deer was home to Bill, where he worked as a journeyman carpenter and raised a family. During that time, he worked on many significant construction projects which included the Nova Petrochemical Plant, Bower Mall, and the Dixon Dam.

As his career progressed, Bill became a skilled finishing carpenter.

When Bill wasn't building, you could find him camping, hunting, dancing, playing crib and pool. He also loved gardening, picking wild berries, and watching sports.

Bill is survived by his three children, Roxanne (Kevin), Darren (Jody) and Tony (Joanne) as well as his grandchildren, Joel (Katelyn), Aaron, Benjamin, Rachel, Seth, Aleksandra, and great grandchild Maela.

A private celebration of Bill's life will be held. If desired, memorial donations in Bill's honour may be made directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
