Apr 30, 1917 - Apr 15, 2018
Bill passed away peacefully in his sleep April 15, 2018 at the Sturgeon Community Hospital in St. Albert. He was affectionately known as "Old Bill' or "Wild Bill" by his many friends in Red Deer and St. Albert.

Bill is survived by his son Rob (Patti), grand daughters Kristi and Jamie (Kyle) Aker, niece Judy Larose (Bernard), and nephew Tom Christianson (Wendy).

He was predeceased by his wife Isabel, brother Tom, and niece Patsy Goldberg. Dad lived to be 100, almost 101. He was born on a kitchen table in rural Saskatchewan April 30, 1917. His life took him in many work places including 25 years in the RCAF, 7 years at the Red Deer Post Office and 13 years at the RCMP rural detachment in Red Deer. He lived in Red Deer for 54 years.

After his wife's passing in 1992 he spent time camping and travelling with his family across Alberta, BC and the Northwest USA. He was a master and a teacher at playing cribbage games at most family gatherings over the years. He was a good father, wonderful grandfather (G'Pa), best friend, and an entertainer with many stories up to his passing.

Dad, Grandpa, Uncle Bill, and friend will be missed by all. We believe Dad has entered a journey into light not darkness.

A very special thanks to the Unit 18 doctors, nurses, LPN's, health care aid's, and support staff at the Sturgeon Hospital. To Dad everyone was a friend.

No service is planned as per Dad's wishes. He considered his 100 birthday party held in Red Deer to be his way to celebrate life and his move to St.Albert. Our hope is that all family and friends will remember Bill for his kindness, generosity, and his many stories.
