William HAMILL

HAMILL William (Bill) Gavin Bill passed away on Monday, March 26, 2007 at home on his farm in Sylvan Lake. He was born December 3, 1930 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. In 1957, Bill married Margaret Patricia (Pat) Oliver, also from Saskatoon. Bill worked for CN Trucking in Saskatoon and then in Red Deer. He loved practical jokes, animals and most of all sports. He played baseball as a teen and had an opportunity to go to the States to play ball, but was deterred by his grandfather. Bill loved hockey and was playing on three Oldtimers teams up until 1996, when he had a heart attack. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Pat; three daughters; Sharon Fitzsmonds (Dennis), Betty Wood, Linda Wilson (Jim); his son, Rob; his son-in-law Greg Wood and grandchildren; Ruth, James, Daniel, Erin, Sean, Laurel and Aidan; his cousins Carol Hannah and son Darcy, Evelyn Wells and Francis Orr. He was predeceased by his father Walter, mother Elsie, his two uncles Paul and Bill, his aunt Min and cousin Murray. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends as well as his faithful pets, who he spent endless hours with, Skippy and Sam. A Memorial Service will be held for Bill at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 40 Holmes Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Monday, April 2 at 2:00 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations in Bill's name may be made to "On Eagles Wings" 10072 - 164 Street Edmonton, AB T5P 4Y3. Envelopes for donations will be available at the Memorial Service.
