HAYS, William McBride William McBride Hays of Bowen Island, BC, died peacefully on February 13, 2006. Bill was born in 1919 to Claude and Rita Hays of Amisk, Alberta. He is survived by wife Corrine, son Brent and daughter Sandra Nagler of Santa Monica. Also surviving are grandchildren Carter and Cadence Hays; Amanda, Daniel and Katherine Nagler; brother Roy Hays of Fort Saskatchewan, and sister Maxine O'Riordan of Red Deer, AB. Bill joined the R.C.A.F. in 1941, attained pilot status and became a Flying Instructor. Flight Lieutenant Hays received official commendation by King's Order in 1944. Bill went on to a long career as an airline pilot with Air Canada. He spent his retirement years contentedly in the scenic Island community.
