William HODGKINSON

HODGKINSON William Charles “Bill” Hodgkinson of Red Deer passed away early on Sunday, November 27, 2005 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital at the age of 83 years. Bill was born, married, and raised in Peace River, Alberta. He spent five years in the Canadian Army in WW2. He then pursued a career as the owner of a thriving business in Peace River (H & S Music Center). For many years he was active in sports; golf, curling, skiing, coaching peewee baseball and hockey. As a member of the Peace River Ski Club, one of his many accomplishments was the mapping out of the runs in the present Misery Mountain Ski Resort. He also spent twelve years in the Peace River Volunteer Fire department, retiring as Captain. Left to mourn his loss are; his loving wife, Eileen, one daughter, Terry (Jack) Williamson, three sons; Roy (Shirley) of Calgary, Rick (Margaret) of Oakville Ontario, Randy (Sandra) of Peace River, eight grandchildren; Lindsay, Ladeen, Erin (Dave), Robert, Jeffery, Christa (Chad), Richard and Lisa, one great-grandchild, Alexis, one sister, Florence Quevillon of Valleyview, one brother, Ernie of Peace River, one brother-in-law and lifelong friend, Jack Gardener of Edmonton, one sister-in-law, Sally Gardener of Edson, as well as many nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his parents, and his brothers; Ronald, Laurie, and George. At Bill’s request there will not be a funeral.
