TALBOT, William Leslie "Les"

William Leslie Talbot "Les" passed away peacefully on February 01, 2018 at the age of 89. He is reunited with the love of his life, Jenny.
Les was born on August 26, 1928, on Charleston Farm in Boynton, Bridlington, England, to William Henry Talbot and Lillian May Moore Talbot. Their young family of three children, Horace, Irene and baby Les, immigrated to Canada the following year. He learned to walk on the boat ride across the Atlantic on the Duchess of Bedford. Mom always said this explained his swagger. He grew up on his family farm near Mozart, Saskatchewan, with parents, William and Lillian (Moore) Talbot; and siblings, Irene, Horace, Lorraine, Lillian, Stan, and Cecil. He is survived by his younger brother, Cec, and his brother in law, Bob (Monique) Marciszyn.
In August, 1954, he married Jean (Jenny) Marciszyn and together they raised five rowdy children. They were married for 55 years, until her passing February 08, 2010.
Les served in Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, as a paratrooper in peacetime Germany. He spoke often of his time in Germany, Holland, Belgium and England. He, Jenny and young daughter Anne were on what he described as the vacation of a lifetime.
When he returned from service, they settled in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, where Joe and Louis were born. In the early 60's they moved to Regina, where Barb and Charlie completed the family.
Les, Jenny and the family moved from Saskatchewan to Red Deer, Alberta in the early 70's. They moved to Airdrie, Alberta in 1977 where they remained until illness brought them back to Red Deer to be closer to their kids, in 2009.
Les is survived by his loving children, Anne Bell, Joe Talbot, Louis Talbot (Lorelis), Barb Talbot and Charles Talbot. He had immense love for his grandchildren Michelle, Kim, Bea, Kyle (Kayla), Chelsea (Jessy), Brett, Marty, Matthew and Marcos, as well as his great grandchildren, Keja, Travis and Ryland and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Alzheimer's disease is a long goodbye and our family is thankful that our dad, once again, walks beside his loving Jenny and shares the memories they made in their lifetime together.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapel 4820 - 45 Street, Red Deer at 11am Friday February 09, 2018
The family would like to express their deepest thanks to the staff at the Adult Day Program, FSCA 5409 - 50th Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta T4N 4B7 and the staff on Apollo in The Centennial Centre for Mental Health and Brain Injury, Box 1000, Ponoka, AB T4J 1R8 for their support of dad and our family in his final years.
