MURPHY, William James "Bill" 1936 - 2007 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Bill Murphy of Red Deer, formerly of Edmonton, on Sunday, March 25, 2007. Bill was a man of passion, will, and most of all love, and was instantly liked by all who encountered him. His love for his family was everything to him. Mourning his passing but celebrating his life are his loving wife, Louise; three sons and daughter's-in-law; Joe and Margaret, Michael and Martha and David and Carrie; grandchildren Geoffrey, Kathleen, Danielle, Christine and Jay. He is also survived by his mother, Doris Thurston, sisters, Eileen Pringle and Patricia Ross, and brother, Terry. He was predeceased by his father, William Murphy. Bill was born in Edmonton and lived there until moving to Red Deer in 2001 to be closer to family. Bill worked predominantly in the insurance business for over 40 years and was known as a professional with deep integrity. He loved sports especially coaching, being acknowledged by the Prime Minister of Canada for his commitment to the young people he helped. Special thanks to the nurses and doctors at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Palliative Care who were so caring and compassionate to Bill in the last days of his life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of one's choice. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 2, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 6 McMillan Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta.
