RUSSELL William Norman Russell passed away in Red Deer Hospital on January 7, 2009 at the age of 85. Norm lived in Alix and area all his life. He was born at the Russell homestead on the Red Deer River on October 30, 1923 and raised in a family of seven- Roy, Mary, Norman, Arthur, Ted, Alice and Don. Norman married Velma Bray on May 17, 1947. Norm ran a dray business in Alix, then operated gravel trucks and farmed. His first truck was a 1946 Diamond Reo. He was predeceased by his wife, Velma in 1984 and his son Bob in 1991. He leaves to mourn his daughters, Gloria Knight (Bill) of Tees, Glenda Keller (Bob) of Calgary, son Bill of Alix, daughter-in-law Kathy Riddle (Terry) of Ponoka and his special friend Rose Richardson of Alix. Norman has 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren whom he enjoyed so much. Funeral services will be held at Wilson’s Funeral Chapel and Crematorium, 6120 Highway 2A , Lacombe Alberta, on Saturday January 10, 2009 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to S.T.A.R.S, Southern Alberta, 1441 aviation Park N.E.
