William SOUTER

SOUTER William "Bill" passed away at on May 14, 2009 at the age of 73 years. Bill was born on June 24, 1935 in Wetaskiwin, AB. He is survived by his brother Charles (Chuck) Souter and his sister Margaret (Maggie) Forbes. He also leaves his nephew Edward (Eddie) Souter, Daniel Forbes, nieces Crystalyn Lavoie and Kerry Forbes. Bill lived in Halkirk with his aunt and uncle Isobel and Albert Mulford and their family from the age of 16 to 35 when he moved back to Edmonton. He moved to Castor at the age of 62 and remained until passing peacefully away at home in his sleep. Bill was a social butterfly. He loved people; especially children and they seemed to return his feelings for them. He loved to laugh and always had a smile on his face. Bill traveled as often as possible, making numerous trips into the states, including Alaska and Disneyland. He flew for the first time when he and his sister Maggie flew to Victoria B.C. a few years ago. Among his other intense interests were playing bingo, the Edmonton Oilers and going to rodeos. His two favorite rodeos were the Daines Ranch Rodeo and the Ponoka Stampede. He will be missed by all who knew him. A memorial tea and luncheon was held on Thursday, May 21, 2009 in the Castor Golden Circle. Should friends desire memorial contributions may be made in Bill’s memory to the Edmonton Humane Society.
