TAYLOR William "Bill" Henry 1944 - 2009 Bill Taylor of Sylvan Lake, Alberta passed away suddenly on March 6, 2009 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital at the age of 64 years. Bill’s memory will be cherished forever by his loving wife and best friend Karon and his much loved daughters Christine (Mike) Kozbial and Kimberly (Neil) Hunter. He will also be deeply missed by his mother Margaret; six much loved grandchildren Ashley, Melissa, Cameron, Jessica, Ryan and Devin; and very special great grandson William. Bill also leaves to mourn his passing two brothers Glen Jr. (Dorothy) and Alfred (Sheila); five sisters Shirley (Stu), Bev, Lorraine (Larry), Bonnie (Monty), Diane (Ross) as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Bill was predeceased by his father, Glen Sr. (1989); infant brother Donald; brother-in-law Fred and niece Quanah. Bill was born in Wetaskiwin, Alberta on April 18, 1944 and moved with his family to the Leedale District in 1950. He worked hard on the family farm as a young man, a trait that would follow him throughout his life. He met, and then married Karon in 1967. They started their life together in Calgary for six years, moved to Red Deer for five years, then settled in Sylvan Lake in 1978 where he resided until his passing. Bill was a former member of his father's band, "The Silvertones", an extraordinary wood craftsmen, a fabulous traveling companion, and he had a fun sense of humor and played numerous pranks on his grandchildren. Bill was more than just a son to his mother, a brother to his siblings, a husband to his wife, a father to his children, grand/ great grandfather to the grandchildren; he was our friend. He was there for every one of us, whether we needed a house/ doghouse built, a table or door fixed, or a personal line of credit extended with no interest charged. He was not a religious man, but will have no trouble walking through the gates of heaven with his head held high and a confident smile knowing he had lived his life above and beyond standards. A Funeral Service will be held at the Sylvan Lake Funeral Home, 5019 47A Avenue, Sylvan Lake, Alberta, on Friday, March 13, 2009 at 2:00 P.M.
