Raised in Turner Valley, Ted worked many years as a welder and pipeliner. Ted raised his family in Pincher Creek where he worked as a businessman, farmed and was a contributing member to his community, being active in the Agricultural Society. Ted played hockey for the Sulpher Kings and coached minor hockey. He was a member of the Elks, Lions Club, Legion and Rotary Club. Ted served 3 terms on the Okotoks Town Council.

Ted owned a Pipeline Inspection and Consulting company working throughout Alberta. Although Ted was a welder, his passion was farming.
