Willis WENTWORTH

WENTWORTH Willis Clifford Wentworth, beloved husband of Margaret, of Lacombe passed away peacefully at home in his sleep on August 8, 2006 at the age of 84 years. Born in 1922 in Okotoks, Alberta, Willis joined the Air Force in 1942. While serving overseas, he was shot down over Holland and with the help of the underground, managed to reach the American military and find his way back to England and then home. In 1945, after returning from the war, he married Margaret Runnalls. They resided in Okotoks for 15 years before moving to the Red Deer area to farm. After many careers, Willis retired to motorhome life. He is survived by Margaret, his loving wife of 61 years, his son Cliff (Johanne) of Lethbridge and daughter Arleen (Jim) Sanford of Sylvan Lake, 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Willis is also survived by his sister Marie Lineham of Victoria, B.C. and by his sister-in-law Hannah Craw of Okotoks. Willis was predeceased by his father and mother, Clifford and Delphine, and his brother Jack. In keeping with Willis' wishes, there will be no funeral service. Floral tributes gratefully declined. Friends are invited to join the family for a time of remembrance at Royal Oak Manor, 4501 College Ave., Lacombe on Friday, August 11, 2006 at 2:00 PM.
