LUFT, WILMA Aug. 4, 1932- Sept. 27, 2007 Wilma Luft, beloved wife of Wilfred Luft of Didsbury (previously of Bashaw, AB), passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2007 at the age of 75 years. Wilma is lovingly remembered by Wilfred, her husband of fifty-five years. She will forever be remembered for her zest for life, her passion for learning, her keen mind and her great generosity of spirit. Wilma taught school for many years, beginning at Zella School in Didsbury where she met Wilfred, the love of her life. She also taught at Mecca Glenn School and spent many years teaching at Bashaw school. She served on many community organizations, including town councils, church boards, hospital boards and used her musical talents in many community events. Wilma is survived by her children, Shirley Vickers, Barry (Joanne), Robyn (Marie), Kevin (Gloria), and Corey (Pranee). Her 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren were her pride and joy and she leaves with them many precious memories and lovingly handcrafted gifts. Wilma will also be missed by her two brothers and two sisters, brothers and sisters in law, numerous nieces and nephews and her wealth of friends in the communities in which she so generously shared her talents and time. A Celebration of Wilma's life was held at Zion Evangelical Missionary Church in Didsbury on Monday, October 1, 2007, 2:00 p.m. If friends and family so desire, memorial tributes may be made to STARS, 1441 Aviation Park NE, Box 570, Calgary, AB T2E 8M7 or the Bissell Centre, 10530 96 St. NW, Edmonton, AB T5H 2H6. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff in Didsbury Hospital and the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at the Foothills Hospital. A special thank you to Dr. Fiona Costello and Dr. Spence.
