Wilma PETERS

PETERS Wilma Jane - nee Trathen July 21, 1928 - Oct. 8, 2007 Wilma was born in Onoway, AB and lived at Bilby then Lake Saskatoon, AB for her school years. She then moved with her family to Red Deer, where she finished her high school and started working. Her first jobs were at Eatons, then Safeway. Wilma met her husband Norm, in Red Deer and was married here. After a few years, life took them to BC, where they eventually established their home in Surrey, BC, and raised their family. Wilma worked for Sears for over 20 years during that time. She passed away unexpectedly at the Langley Memorial Hospital. Wilma is survived by her husband of 57 years, Norman, son Russel (Shirley), and daughter, Cheri. Survived by her sisters, Irene Gordon, Vera Wheeldon (Robin) and brother, Cecil Trathen. Predeceased by her brother Ralph Trathen, sister Muriel Jones, and brother Gordon Trathen. Wilma was a loving grandmother to Chad, Trevor and Whitney. She will be greatly missed by her extended family and many friends. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Arthritis Foundation would be appreciated. A graveside interment will be held on Friday, November 2, 2007, followed by tea at the Valley View Funeral Home, Surrey, BC.
