WINGER (nee Rathwell) 1921 - 2009 With tender hearts we announce the passing of our dear mother & grandmother, Mrs. Ruby Fern Winger of Red Deer, Alberta. Ruby passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at the age of 87 years. Ruby was born on May 4, 1921 at Clive, Alberta and grew up in the Satinwood District. She was a longtime member of the Royal Purple where she also served as an Honoured Royal Lady. She was part of the Golden Circle Singers and a lifetime member of the Pioneer Lodge. She is survived by her son, Doug (Delores) Winger of Red Deer, Alberta, her five daughters, Carol (Gerry) Wedlund of Lacombe, Alberta, Judy (Pat) Harrison of Red Deer, Alberta, Linda Winger of Calgary, Alberta, Brenda (Jim) Thull of Red Deer, Alberta, Wendy (Darcy) Brunes of Calgary, Alberta, nine grandchildren, Michelle, Tammy, Darcy (Sabrina), Carrie (Layne), Kris, Ryan (Julia), Michael, Derek, Jessica and eleven great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Gordon Rathwell of Calgary, Alberta and a very special sister-in-law, Bernice Rathwell of Calgary, Alberta. Ruby was predeceased by her husband, James (Gerry), one son Ron, her sister, Margaret Pepper and her two brothers, Bob and Malcolm. A funeral service will be held at Eventide Funeral Chapel, 4820-45 Street, Red Deer on Friday, May 1, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Alto Rest Cemetery, Red Deer.
