HENDERSON Yvonne Henderson of Red Deer passed away in Red Deer on June 2, 2007 at the age of 74 years. Born in Lichfield, England, Yvonne (Dalton) Henderson served with the Women's Royal Army Corps, Military Police in the Western Midlands, Wales and Northern Ireland. She immigrated to Canada in 1956 to marry her beloved husband, David. David's RCAF career took them and their young family to many places in Canada and Europe until they settled in Red Deer in 1977. In Red Deer Yvonne raised her family, worked at the Red Deer Regional Hospital and was a dedicated volunteer with Search and Rescue and St. John's Ambulance performing over 500 hours of public duty. She adored hot ballooning and travelling off the beaten path. This wonderful, adventurous lady will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Yvonne will lovingly be remembered by her husband, David and two sons; James Henderson (Kim O'Brien) of Red Deer and Ivor (Anne) Henderson of Red Deer, four daughters; Dawn (Mike) Upham of Cold Lake, Sherry (Larry) Darling of Penhold, Carol Henderson (Rus Pierce) of Edmonton and Kim (Lyle) Langmaid of Sylvan Lake. She will be missed by her nine grandchildren and five great grand-children. She will always be remembered by her one brother, Ivor Dalton of Wallaceburg, Ontario and two sisters; Mary Herbert of Oakville, Ontario and June Hook of Weston, Ontario. A Memorial Service will be held at Red Deer Funeral Home (6150 - 67 street) on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. Yvonne had a great affection for the bears at "Discovery Wildlife Park".
