I just want to let everyone know of the retirement of my exceptional mom, Nicole Pelletier.

I want to wish her congratulations and thank her for all her hard work and dedication to her students and the Red Deer Public School District over the past 30-plus years.

She took pride in her students and loved teaching. We don’t say it enough, but you are the best EA your students could possibly have.

Mom, as busy as you were at school, you were always grateful to come home to your husband Bob, and children Valerie, myself and Nicolas.

Plus, you spoil and adore your five grandchildren who bring you so much joy.

Whether you taught at school or home, in French or English, you are forever patient, generous, supportive, compassionate and teaching us life lessons.

Having moved here from Quebec in September 1980, nearly 40 years ago, you spoke no English; however, you quickly learned and proudly raised your children bilingual.

You started out working at Ashley & Friends Playschool, at Parkland CLASS, Lindsay Thurber Composite High School, and were fortunate to share the French language and culture with your students and colleagues at Ecole Mountview School for the past 20 years, completing your successful career there Thursday.

Thank you for being the best mentor and teaching us the importance of education and the value of family.

We are so proud to acknowledge this special milestone and thought it would be fun to surprise you by reading it in the newspaper you have always subscribed to.

Enjoy this new journey ahead and cherish every moment. We’ll be right here with you!

Love always.

Isabelle Pelletier and family, Red Deer
