We are Grade 5D students from Maryview School.

We are doing a Social Justice project in class. Social Justice means helping people and making sure everyone has what they need. Due to the ongoing pandemic, we could not do our usual type of project, but instead we chose to recognize front line workers.

Front line workers have had a difficult year. Some of the students in our class have parents who are nurses, teachers, delivery drivers, and nursing home employees. Our parents have said how hard it has been, having to wear full PPE. Teachers have had to work from home and try to meet their students virtually. We know some front line workers have been treated wrongly and it upsets us.

We would like to give a gigantic thank you to all front line workers in central Alberta. This would include nursing home employees, doctors, truck drivers, teachers/school employees, nurses, delivery drivers, bus drivers, police officers, firefighters, paramedics, and everyone else who worked during COVID-19.

So, from 5D at Maryview School, thank you.
