Letter writer Jim Swan (Dec. 24 in the Advocate) stated that human-caused climate change is a myth. But he gives zero evidence to back this up.

Contrast that with the mountain of evidence that climate scientists have gathered going back to 1) 1824, when Joseph Fourier formulated the concept of the greenhouse effect, 2) 1859, when John Tyndall demonstrated the importance of carbon dioxide in the matter, and 3) 1896, when Svante August Arrhenius quantified the effects of the various atmospheric gases upon the earth’s temperature.

Clamate change has caused destruction with fire, flood and the migration of harmful insects to areas which are no longer as cold as they used to be.
