Letter: Climate change needs immediate attention

While I am very relieved and gratified to learn that our federal government is taking positive and intelligent steps to combat climate change ASAP, I feel strongly that we need to be doing even more, and faster.

While I am very relieved and gratified to learn that our federal government is taking positive and intelligent steps to combat climate change ASAP, I feel strongly that we need to be doing even more, and faster.

Canadians are realizing that – while Covid needs our immediate and intense efforts to “flatten the curve” and begin to get control of this pandemic – we need to do as much, and more, equally fast to prevent permanent and uncontrollable changes in our global climate.

Our future generations depend on us, with our knowledge and capacity, to change the direction of “development” and growth for the sake of growth. The globe is a finite place for all peoples to live in, learn about, and love.

It is our only home now and for the coming generations. We can and must realize our responsibilities to maintain and regenerate our beautiful home. We expect to do our part at citizens, and expect our government to lead the way.
