After the disgusting behaviour of our GG, do you really think that she is entitled to all the perks of retirement?
I am hearing that she will still be able to be given a salary per year. For what? She did not do the job she was hired to do in the past, did not have a welcoming or pleasant working environment and for this we are going to condone her actions by still paying her.
In the past some of our former governor generals have used the funds paid to them to do good for our country. If Julie Payette could not do her job properly while in the post do you really think she will going forward? I think not.
Maybe going forward our tax paying dollars should be used for something else. If you are having to resign from your post, you did not complete your job, you do not deserve the perks of this office.
May be as tax payers we should be allowed to vote on whether this practice of paying after you leave office should continue. I for one, being a taxpayer, do not believe that this practice should take place going forward.
