Premier Jason Kenny is doing a poor job of containing Covid-19, especially now that there is a new variant virus in the UK and South Africa.

He is permitting people from these countries into Alberta and recommending they get tested once they are here. That’s like closing the barn door once the horse has run away. Why is he not restricting all passengers from these countries and not allowing them into Alberta?

He has a lockdown in this province, no family gatherings, no visiting your family in long care homes and no visiting in hospitals where your loved one may be dying. So these people die alone, how inhuman is that?

Yet he permits retail stores to stay open at a reduced capacity of 15 per cent, where people come and go shopping, some with no face coverings, he closes hair and nail salons where there they follow strict protocols more so than any of the retail stores and restricts any person to go visit their loved ones in hospital or long care homes.

How many people in this province are going to come down with this new virus, how many people are going to die? We should be like Australia and restrict all travel from countries outside of Canada until this virus is contained. You can’t tell people to stay home, when you are letting people travel outside of Canada, and permitting people from other countries to come here.
