Reg warkentin’s column in the Advocate on Jan 9 “what if cure is worse than disease” was very sobering and insightful.

Referring to the very young childrens’ lack of socialization the author says “The impact of this won’t be known for years until they mature.” So true, and so potentially heartbreaking for parents.

There is another heartbreaking social experience occurring that has nothing to do with the Covid-19 pandemic. It is horribly affecting young girls of puberty age. The hip trans YouTube stars and “gender-affirming” educators have hammered away at their “game” so aggressively and so successfully that it has actually become “cool” to come out as “transgender.”

Think of the tragedy of this. A generation of these young girls may be lost to the “craze” sweeping through their lives.

Author Abigail Shrier, in her book Irreversible Damage: The transgender craze seducing our daughters, through hundreds of interviews with parents and their teens, explains well this phenomenon. The author says “We have an absolute epidemic of teenage girls who do not seem to have typical gender dysphoria at all, but nonetheless, convincing themselves they have gender dysphoria, convincing their friends, and rushing to hormones and surgeries.”

It is a sad reality, but parents must read this book.
