Letter: Patients at Red Deer hospital eligible for vaccines can’t get them

I would like to thank our local Red Deer Advocate for writing a piece about patients in our Red Deer hospital eligible for the 1b phase of the vaccination – but unable to be included in the rollout since confined to hospital care.

I would like to thank our local Red Deer Advocate for writing a piece about patients in our Red Deer hospital eligible for the 1b phase of the vaccination – but unable to be included in the rollout since confined to hospital care.

There is plenty of product at different Covid injection sites for those eligible for the shot – but of course none for those trapped in hospitals with low immune or tolerance against the Covid-19 pandemic.

One would have thought those suffering from other health issues in hospitals would have been first – certainly not the last considered for this rollout.

Both Premier Jason Kenney and Minister Tyler Shandro have some explaining to do to those who are sick, elderly and are eligible for vaccines but can’t get them at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre.
