Letter: Thanking volunteers in Red Deer

National Volunteer Week is April 18 to 24. At the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS), we know that volunteering builds a community’s resiliency by showing residents how much that community cares about different causes. We would like to thank all of the dedicated volunteers in Red Deer and its surrounding areas for your inspiring support of the causes that mean the most to you.

Volunteers strengthen communities, lift others up, and take care of vulnerable people.

We are especially grateful for the volunteers who have helped build a solid foundation for the CCS’s work throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. You have allowed us to continue funding research, supporting people with cancer, and advocating on behalf of all Canadians.

Whether you gave your time prior to the pandemic, or you’ve helped with our virtual events, programs or activities in the last year, we thank you. You have stood by us as we work to create change for the nearly one in two Canadians who will be affected by cancer in their lifetime.
