On Jan. 26, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau commented on the freedom convoy, that in my opinion, is protesting the vaccine mandates for not only the truckers, but Canadians in general. He pointed that, like the Canadian population, 90 per cent of all truckers are vaccinated. He missed the point of the convoy which was that the truckers were protesting blanket mandates, irrespective of whether they were vaccinated or not.
He said: “Small fringe minorities of people who are on their way to Ottawa, or who are holding unacceptable views that they are expressing, do not represent the views of Canadians…”
Apparently, the prime minister did not see any of the videos of the many people, standing in the cold, lining the roads and overpasses and cheering as the trucks passed through.
I think this shows that Canadians are not against vaccines per se, but they just don’t like to be forced or coerced under penalty of losing their livelihood. How many of the 90 per cent of Canadians that took the vaccines did so for that reason?
In the 2019 election, the Liberals raised $4.8 million for their campaign.
The “fringe minority” have contributed $6.3 million to the truckers according to a GoFundMe online fundraiser (as of writing this letter).
