One day after being named the WHL player of the week, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins took it to the next level Tuesday.

The Red Deer Rebels star centre and leading scorer was selected as the Canadian Hockey League player of the week for the period ending Feb. 6. In three games, the 17-year-old fired five goals and collected 12 points, moving into third place in WHL scoring with 79 points (19-60).

Nugent-Hopkins is ranked third by Central Scouting for this year’s NHL entry draft.
