The Alberta Junior Hockey League will return to the ice next Friday.
The league released its schedule for the final 52 games of the 2020-21 season, which will be played only on weekends between March 12 and April 4. The league will break at that point and change cohort groups, before continuing games in April.
The Olds Grizzlys will drop the puck on March 13 against the Drumheller Dragons, before squaring off against the Camrose Kodiaks on March 14. Olds had played just one game before the season was paused in the fall.
No fans will be allowed at games yet and if a member of the AJHL cohort, player or staff test positive for COVID-19, the team will be required to isolate and suspend all in-person activities for 14 days.
The league has also completed its first round of COVID-19 testing across 13 teams and 367 players and staff. They returned no positive tests from that initial phase and after a seven-day isolation period, tests will be administered before teams practice together again.
They have also teamed up with DynaLife Lab, which provides private PCR testing and was also used by the Western Hockey League in its return to play last month.
