VANCOUVER — The B.C. Lions are making room for some of their younger players.
The Lions dealt offensive lineman Kelly Bates to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Thursday for a conditional pick in the 2011 CFL Canadian draft.
The 33-year-old Bates had been a starter on the Lions’ offensive line since 2003, was an all-star in 2007 and played 115 regular-season games for B.C.
