The Blackfalds Bulldogs bounced back in a big way after opening the season in unimaginable fashion.

In their inaugural Alberta Junior Hockey League contest Friday, the Bulldogs fell 17-0 to the Brooks Bandits.

Their fortunes turned just a night later, knocking off Central Alberta rival Olds Grizzlys 5-4 in Olds. Five different Bulldogs found the back of the net, with Ryan Johnson, Jayden Joly, Kai Matthew, Conrad Mitchell and Spencer Bell registering goals.

Kyle Uganecz led the way for the Bulldogs with four assists, and Joly also had a helper for a two-point night.

Lucas Massie picked up the win in net with 33 saves.

Noah Hackett had a pair of goals and an assist for Olds, while Joshua Zinger and Kyle Wallace each added a goal. Tristan Martin was handed the loss in net with 19 saves.

Olds lost a tight game in their season opener Friday, falling 3-2 to Canmore in overtime. Hackett and Lowie Vreys had goals for Olds in the loss.

The Bulldogs travel to Canmore to take on the Eagles next Sunday, while the Grizzlys host the Brooks Bandits Friday and the Camrose Kodiaks on Saturday.
