Bulldogs 5 Kodiaks 1

The Blackfalds Bulldogs are on a roll.

After losing three straight games to close out November, the Bulldogs have won four straight and are undefeated in the month of December.

On Saturday night the Bulldogs rolled over the Camrose Kodiaks 5-1 at the Eagle Builders Centre to seal the deal on their fourth consecutive victory in Alberta Junior Hockey League Action.

After a scoreless first period, the Bulldogs took a stronghold on the game in the middle frame. The first came just two minutes in scored by Layne Loomer and minutes after that, Jack Plandowski put Blackfalds on top 2-0.

Near the midway point of the period, Brendan Ross gave the Bulldogs a commanding 3-0 lead heading into the final frame.

However, the Bulldogs weren’t done there. Plandowski notched his second of the game a few minutes into the period.

The Kodiaks spoiled Bulldogs goaltender Matthew Hennessey’s shutout midway through the frame on the powerplay scored by Ryan Sullivan. It didn’t seem to rattle the netminder who had a fantastic game with 34 saves on 35 shots.

Blackfalds added one more while on the penalty kill when David Brandes scored at the 12-minute mark.

The Bulldogs’ next game will be against the first-place Brooks Bandits at the Eagle Builders Centre where they’ll look to extend the win streak to five.
