TORONTO — The Toronto Blue Jays are taking the interim tag off Paul Beeston’s title.
He was appointed president and CEO of the club and Rogers Centre for a three-year term Tuesday.
Beeston took over from Paul Godfrey on an interim basis in October 2008 and repeatedly said he didn’t want the job full-time.
Beeston kept saying the job demanded someone willing to make a 5-to-10 year commitment.
But team owner Rogers Communications Inc., continued to press him to take him the job permanently.
Beeston has remade the organization since his return, including the hiring of new general manager Alex Anthopoulos last month.
