Come-from-behind winners stole the show at the Alberta Bantam Championships at River Bend Golf and Recreation Area.

Conditions were much improved for the final 18 holes at the two-day tournament after a windy opening day. On the bantam boys side, Jayden Brar edged opening day leader Kyle Krall to win by two strokes with an even-par round Tuesday. Brar had the low round of the day with a 72 and finished three-over-par for the tournament.

“I just wanted to play my best and see what happens. The pressure makes you really excited and you want to hit good shots. It’s fun,” Brar told Alberta Golf after the round.

In the bantam girls competition, Brooke Frerichs charged up the leaderboard and snatched the victory from Jayla Kucy. Frerichs shot on a one-over 73 Tuesday, winning the tournament with a nine-over, four strokes ahead of Kucy.

Tate Bruggeman won the novice boys title and Edie Nicholson collected the novice girls title. Bruggeman shot a four-under-par 68 and was plus-one for the tournament to win by one stroke over Tyler Kidd.
