CACHS Knights keep winning at provincials

The Central Alberta Christian High School Knights picked up their second provincial win Friday.

The Knights topped J.T. Foster 78-70 at the Alberta Schools Athletic Association 1A Basketball Provincials in Lacombe.

Keith Tenbrinke led the way again for CACHS win 18 points.

On the girls side in Lacombe, the CACHS Knights earned a 67-56 win over the Hay Lakes Tigers. Macy Meinema scored 18 points for the Knights in the win. They’ll play Bassano tomorrow at 12:30 p.m.

It was a tough day for the Lindsay Thurber Raiders at ASAA 4A provincials.

Both the Raiders senior boys and girls suffered defeats and will play their final game Saturday morning.

The boys dropped a 96-71 decision to Jasper Place and the girls lost 67-54 to St. Mary of Calgary.

The girls will square off against the Charles Spencer High School on Saturday morning. The boys will face Lloydminster Comprehensive High School.

At the 3A boys tournament in Cochrane, Wetaskiwin won their only game 83-73 over Holy Trinity and will play Saturday morning against St. Joseph (Grande Prairie).
