Canada Cup moguls at Canyon Ski Resort in Red Deer this weekend

Canyon Ski Resort will host the competitions Saturday and Sunday

While many people are watching the Winter Olympics on TV, Red Deerians can watch high quality skiing right at home.

The Canada Cup Series single and dual mogul events will be held at Canyon Ski Resort this weekend. This is a test event for the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer.

Thursday will be an unofficial training day, where skiers can hit the course if it is ready; Friday is the official training day.

The single moguls competition is Saturday and the dual moguls competition in Sunday. Both events begin around 9 a.m. and end around 3 p.m.

The awards ceremony is Sunday at 4 p.m.

David Martel, Canyon Ski Resort general manager, said a specialized snow CAT was used Tuesday and Wednesday to prepare the course for the competition.
