RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico — Mike Weir withdrew from the Puerto Rico Open on Thursday morning with a cyst on his left wrist.

The Canadian lefty received an on-site diagnosis at the tournament and was told that rest should heal the ailment.

If that doesn’t work, he will have it drained.

The 40-year-old is still trying to get his game back in form after sitting out four months at the end of last year with partially torn ligaments in his right elbow.

Weir has made just one cut in five tournaments this season and lost his full PGA Tour playing privileges last week.

His next scheduled event is the Arnold Palmer Invitational from March 24-27.
