TORONTO — Vancouver Canucks forward Raffi Torres won’t be serving another suspension.
There had been speculation the league might rule on Torres’ hit on Chicago’s Brent Seabrook in Vancouver’s 3-2 playoff victory Sunday night.
Torres received a two-minute minor after rocking the Hawks defenceman with a blow to the head behind the goal.
Colin Campbell, the NHL’s senior executive vice-president of hockey operations, said it wasn’t a late hit, and Torres didn’t charge Seabrook, leave his feet to deliver the check, or deliver an elbow or extended forearm.
It was Torres’ first game back from a four-game ban for a blindside hit on Edmonton’s Jordan Eberle.
The Canucks have a 3-0 series lead heading into Game 4 on Tuesday in Chicago.
