Central Alberta Buccaneers win home opener

Buccaneers 43 Irish 6

The Central Alberta Buccaneers picked up a dominant win for their fans in the team’s home opener.

The Bucs defeated the visiting Airdrie Irish 43-6 at Great Chief Park’s Setters Place in Red Deer this past Saturday.

This improved the Buccaneers record to 2-0 in the Alberta Football League season. Central Alberta defeated the Calgary Wolfpack at McMahon Stadium in Week 1.

The Buccaneers’ bye week is up next. The team will host the Cold Lake Fighters Jets in its next game Aug. 7.
