A week off had no effect on the Central Alberta Buccaneers.

Two weeks after a thrashing over the Airdrie Irish, the Bucs downed the Cold Lake Fighter Jets in convincing fashion Saturday.

The Bucs dominated in a 44-16 win at Setters Place, moving to 3-0 with one game left in the Alberta Football League season.

Quarterback Brandon Leyh was once again a difference-maker for the Bucs, throwing five touchdown passes on the night. Axsivier Lawrence and Ben Hnatiuk did the bulk of the damage, each scoring a pair of touchdowns. Mark Fay also added an interception and Adam Kuntz had four sacks and a forced fumble.

The Bucs will travel to Fort Saskatchewan Saturday to take on the Edmonton Elite to round out the regular season.
