Central Alberta golfer moves up four places at Alberta Open on second day

Andrew Harrison of Camrose remained within striking distance of leader Riley Fleming of Calgary Lynx Ridge heading into Wednesday’s final round of the Alberta Open at Wolf Creek Golf Resort.

Fleming put together a four-under par 67 Wednesday to go with his opening round of 65 to sit at 132, five strokes up on Harrison, who had rounds of 68-69 for a 137 total.

Braden McGrady of the Blackhawk Golf Club of Spruce Grove (68-71) and Ethan Wilson of Calgary Glendale (71-68) are tied for third at 139.

Carter Graf of Sylvan Lake and the Red Deer Golf and Country Club had a solid one-under par round of 70 to go with a 72 Tuesday and moved up four places to sit in a tie for eighth at even-par 142. Graf is in a tie for fourth in the amateur portion of the tournament, three strokes back of McGrady.

Michael Harrison of Camrose (70-75) is in a tie for 15th overall at 145 with Chandler McDowell of Springbrook tied for 25th at 74-74-148.

Jace Ouellette of Innisfail and Tim Boston of Ponoka also made the cut, which was 13 over 157.

Ouellette has a two-day total of 151 following rounds of 73-78 and is tied for 32nd while Boston is tied for 38th at (79-73) 152.

Alex Gerrard of the RDGCC (78-80-158), Bobby McKinlay of Bentley (80-80-160), Ron Harder of Innisfail (82-81-163) and Brad Kay of Lacombe (78-91-169) missed the cut.
