Central Alberta golfers compete at AB Men's Senior Championship

The 2024 Alberta Men's Senior Championship at Highwood Golf in High River has wrapped up after three days of action.

David Schultz, of the Country Hills Golf Club, was named the 2024 champion after beating Senan Foley in a two-hole playoff on Thursday. The Calgarian shot two under par to capture the title.

Red Deer's Jean-Francois Doyon was Central Alberta's top finisher in seventh place after shooting two over par throughout the event. He shot two over par 74 on Day 1 before completing a four under par 68 on the second day.

On the final day he shot four over par to drop four spots in the standings. He also finished second among those competing in the 55-59 age division.

Red Deer's Ken Griffith finished not too far behind him in the overall standings, shooting four over par to wrap up the tournament in 10th place.

Red Deer's Peter Innes finished the tournament at seven over par followed by Arthur Pendle and Cornelis Claasen at 10 over par. In addition, Greg Gigliuk from River Bend Golf Club shot 16 over par and Mark Schultz from Olds Golf Club shot 20 over par.
