Some Central Alberta athletes made some noise during the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour’s Alberta Mini Tour event in Calgary.

The tournament took place at the Blue Devil Golf Course on June 4 where nine-year-old Edwin Park from Bentley won the boys 9-10 division after shooting a 64.

“I felt happy that I won this tournament. I beat my last year’s best score from here at Blue Devil and I felt confident. My highlight was when I got an eagle on a par four,” Park said in a media release.

Sylvan Lake’s Ain Lee, 8, came close to winning girls 8U division shooting an 86 but it wasn’t enough to beat Lila Skeates from Calgary, who shot an 85.

Also in the tournament was Red Deer’s Raylee Denton, 12, who finished in third place in the girls 11-12 division after finishing the tournament with a 69.
