Central Alberta golfers post victories at junior tour event in Olds

Eileen Park and Logan Graf posted impressive totals at the MJT Alberta event

Red Deer’s Eileen Park continued her impressive streak this week on the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour.

Park picked up a victory in the U15 Girls category at the MJT Ford Series event in Olds on June 28 and 29.

The 12-year-old has gone three for three in MJT Alberta events this season. She won this week by three strokes in the two-round event over Kali Yeski.

The course was in great shape,” she said. “I’ve had a great start to the season and I’m proud to have won all my tournaments so far.

Sylvan Lake’s Logan Graf, 17 also collected a win, shooting a 74-67 to win by three strokes over Blake Reimer. Graf was two shots back after the opening round but posted an eagle and five birdies in 11 holes to capture the win in round two.

“I tried not to worry about the score and just play each shot at a time,” said Graf. “It’s exciting to get the win.”

Red Deer’s Cole Bergheim was tied for third in the same age group with a two-round total of 147.

Sylvan Lake product Jacob Natomagan was third in the peewee boys age group with a 175 and Rocky Mountain House’s Saylar May was third in the U15 girls group with a 167.
